Panic!Panic!Panic!

Are you sure the game progress will not be lost??

Anybody re-installed the game?

If yes can you revert with your feedback?

Thank you!

I installed it and nothing at all was lost. You'll need to close the game down before installing; it might be an idea to pause the game as well. If you are worried, you could also back up your savegame files; they are in (My) Documents\LDW\Vitual Families on Windows, dunno about Macs. You could then restore the files in the unlikely event that there was a problem.

The only difference I noticed was that "1.00.01" now appears in the Options screen.

If you just install right over top of what you already have, you should have no issues with data loss.

These might be obvious questions, but I can't figure it out.

Which download link on VirtualFamilies.com, do I use? The Try for Free link, or the Buy the Game link? I don't want to buy the game all over again.

If neither of these, where do I get the hotfix?

Try for Free will work. Cause that is just the download and you key is already saved on the pc.

Nothing gets lost, it simply updates the files already installed on your computer while leaving the player file(s) alone.

It would've been nice if they told us what was fixed in this update. My idiots STILL WON'T STAY ASLEEP!!!!!

The fix is because some of the 2nd generation people were "zombie idiots" is I believe how Arthur phrased it. When the 2nd generation took over the house, some of the people had no random actions and just stood there unless told specifically to do something.

Arthur told all of us what was fixed. Open the read me file in the virtual families folder. He's listed all the fixes there.

I just loaded the new version right on top of the old one (PC Windows), and did not lose anything, all three of the slots I had in use were still there, with any trophies won to that point.

So, download the "try me" version over the existing version. "Read me" should indicate the fixes and all should be well right? smile

From the readme file:

Quote:
Fixes in 1.00.01
- 2nd generation people no longer occasionally brainless
- 2nd generation people no longer occasionally inheriting 0 energy and 0 happiness
- Invisible pinball machine removed

Yes, bethlham smile

justbecaz, it's not really a problem if they are praised to sleep and you let them sleep overnight. I had an exhaustion problem last night, but putting them to bed at 11 pm my time and not opening the game until 8 am today seems to have fixed it. Now they go nap when they are tired.

It won't hurt anything to do so, but it's probably not necessary unless you have problems with 2nd generation or later.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I pick up a sock and the family member is "throwing out a wrapper". I've picked up half a dozen socks and my game doesn't recognize them as socks. Was this also addressed in the hotfix?

Colleen, the game is designed that way. Wrappers and socks both look like socks. It's supposed to be funny. blush

Tmac, we know about that bug, and we'll be having a look at it.

I did the hotfix and my family were saved ok. I exited & paused the game. I didn't know you got zombies though, or I might not have done it. laugh

LadyCFII: thanks. See...when I first started the game and was cleaning the house, I thought that was super funny, really. It wasn't until I started exploring the trophies and saw the socks and wrappers stuff that I got confused. So, ok then. Cheers!

I think so, but it won't hurt to check. After opening the game go the the Menu page and you'll see the version number in the bottom left-hand corner.

What you will need to do, then, is to submit our Support Form and explain that you can no longer download the full version to get the 1.00.01 update. Make sure to include the following:

1. Your full name
2. The email address that you used to make the purchase
3. The order number you received at the time of purchase

You should receive another email with a new link.

A hotfix link is to correct bugs in version 00. These apply to games purchased on the release day.

To install you go to the purchase menu, download the 'try me' version and all should be well.

Make sure you close your game first. Backing up savegame files and pausing the game are added suggestions.
