Yeah, I got an adoption and a marriage proposal within the first few minutes of playing. You'll get more people soon.

There is also an event (mentioned in at least one other thread) where a kid turns up on the doorstep and you can choose whether to adopt the kid or not.

She's got e-mail but refuses to read it. She just works on her career and she's been promoted twice now.

Edit: FINALLY she read it, but the proposal was a guy who didn't want kids and didn't seem right for her. So I rejected it.

Edit again: Got her married off. Tried to make a baby. First time they fought. Second time they tried. He was happy, she was tired. LOL Then he went to go cook and she went to look at herself in the mirror.

After several of us playing and having the problem of not reading the email, we discovered that if you are in the tutorial mode, you can not read the email until you are told to read it. You must complete the part of the tutorial that it is telling you to do before you can move on. You will eventually get out of the tutorial and not have problems with reading mail the rest of the game.

If there is e-mail you need to drop your person on the computer to get them to read it. Also it helps if your person wants children (or at least is open to the idea) for them to be more likely to actually go try for children and not argue about it. ALso I found that people being happier are more likely to want children and there is also a shot you can buy in the medicines section to make conception more likely.

I don't know if age is a factor for men, but it is possible there might be a upper age limit on when women can have them (unless the baby shot helps that too).

So far two attempts and no baby. So I gave her a baby booster and saving money for another one for him.

I got two of them that don't want kids it says kids: No way. However they had a baby after all which was nice
