Dear LDW Forumers,
I've been gone for a long time, I know, but now I'm back. Sorta. I love LDW games, I've got lots of friends on here, but let's face it. This site is getting too...how do I put this...well, boring. The rules on the fan fiction(Writing stories are my life!) are too strong! Without that, I'm bored! I might be on every now and then for Virtual Villagers, but My stories, please lock them. I hate being censored. I hate it when, after working hours upon hours on a chapter, it's rejected for the stupids darn reasons in the world! I know what you saying now, "Well, post your story on Kitten's site." NO ONE GOES TO KITTEN'S SITE! MY STORIES ARE NOW A WASTE OF MY TIME! I REFUSE TO CHANGE EVERY CHAPTER! UNTIL MY DEMANDS OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH, AS THE CONSTITUTION SAYS I HAVE A RIGHT TO, ARE MET, I AM ON STRIKE! IF YOU REFUSE TO LET THIS POST PASS 'INSPECTION' OR DELETE IT, I WILL SEND AND EMAIL TO EVERY SINGLE LAST PERSON THAT I KNOW ON HERE UNTIL THEY CHANGE THIS! WE HAVE FREEDOM! FREEDOM OF SPEECH! I REFUSE, I REPEAT, REFUSE TO STAND BY AS MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS ARE VIOLATED! YOU WILL NOT HEAR FROM THIS AUTHOR UNTIL YOU GIVE ME A FORMAL APOLOGY, RIGHT HERE!
Thank you for listening to me.
Sincerely, HelloWorld!

I'm sorry that you feel that way, HW, but Constitutional rights don't apply to a private Web site that is owned, paid for, and operated by a private company. We do have the right to set the rules here. And we have the responsibility to all of the parents out there who have asked us to keep this site E-rated, like our games.
Our rules are what they are, because this must remain a site that is appropriate for all ages. There are many sites that welcome fan fiction that is not necessarily appropriate for all ages. Krystal frequently posts her fan fiction there, and lots of people read and comment on it.

I'm sorry that you feel so frustrated, Helloworld. and I miss your stories. You know, if you become a author (and I hope you will! ), you'll not be able to write adult's stories for an editor of kids' books!! and some kid's stories for an editor of philosophic books!! etc. The life is full of rules or kind of rules. This forum get some rules also, depending of its purpose. Which is... games! There are other sites for people who write and you may find on the web one that you'd like! I looked for the site that Laurelshere used but I can't find it! I'll look again! In waiting, if you have some cut stories that suit for kids, I'll be happy to read it!! And please forgive us if we were too much severe, it's for the forum!

HW, you have been watching too many law shows probably. Don't feel bad, I've had part of my stories deleted, just read the story over, and change it a little.

HelloWorld, I'm sorry to see you so upset!! As someone who hopes to write her own book one day, I've been informed by my writing teacher that publishers will make you change pieces of your story that they don't like before they offer you a deal. Writers who do get their books published usually have to follow a set of story-writing rules. Period. The authors can choose to change their story for the publisher, or just not have it written. So the real creativity lies in trying to reach your audience, while telling your tale, ALL while keeping the constraints that you are given. Who are the audience that you are trying to reach HW?If the young people here (age 6 years old and older) are not your audience, then please don't become upset with us for having rules to protect them. With that said, I hope that you find it in your heart to write more E-rated stories. You have plenty of readers that would love to have you continue your tales. But if they changed the rules about the rating, you might lose a large amount of your friends and readers from ldw, because many kids wouldn't be allowed on the site, and some adults would leave as well. Please consider that many of us who love writing, prefer the rules that are in place. To me they are not stupid at all. Personally, I loved the challenge of making my story fit. (And you can ask Rockmower if that's true.) It is much more important to me that I keep my friends here and that the site is a place where my nieces and nephews can visit, than being able to write something non-E-rated into a story. I hope that I'm not sounding harsh here, but please think about the rest of us, and how requests like this affects everyone. We can help you find another site for your stories if you are trying to reach a different audience. And I hope that you can still be friends with all of us regardless of whether you write stories, or just hang out and talk about the games.
