I think it looks way cute. I am excited to know more details and insight into the game goals and graphics and strategies...I'm excited. I hope they don't die though Maybe if everything goes wrong they will just be evicted instead.

im curious to see how this game will be played. How bug can ur family get? can you meet other families? wats the goal of the game? can you get some pets? alot of questions. overall though i think it should be a good game.

I am excited about it. The concept looks appealing and since we all know LDW's penchant for making a great game that is easy to learn but challenging to finish, then I think I will get many hours of entertainment from it. I hope they do like they did with VV3, and release it here, for their loyal fan base, a day or two before it is released to the general public!

And now I'm wondering about the turtles I was expecting in the game? Ah, maybe they will have pets! That's where the turtles come into it

that'd be cool to have a pet turtle. they could have a wide verity of pets in the game. Maybe you can design ur own house, where you want to live, and other stuff.

I'm with you Rockmower. The concept is great and the game will be good for all ages. It will probably be very educational too; learning how to make a family functional and productive.

Knowing LDW games, it will probably be quite true to life but with a little 'magic' included. I am looking forward to seeing just what the game is all about.

by the look of a pic it looks like they used the same people from vv but with better clothes and hair lol but it looks like i will be spending a lot of time on this ggame i wonder if there will be 16 puzzles like mabe get a job have a child and so on

I think this will be great. I too can't wait. Some of you were saying "no tycoon - no tycoon". I was really hoping it wasn't going to be yet another Hidden Objects game. I am a fan of Hidden Objects but right now the market seems flooded with them. I get several emails a week from BFG and they are always advertising another Hidden Objects game.

This does seem to be the type of game that many forumers have been looking for in the VV games. Though there really is much detail released on the function or game play aspect, it seems you have marriages, lineage, and other things that have cause heated discussions here on the forum.

This game will, in my oppinion, satisfy the masses. I cannot wait. Unfortunately for us, we still have 15% to go. Part of that will be beta testing. So, here we sit, our little tribe of forumers, gathered by the fire, waiting. Waitng. Waiting

I hope it has some real goals and is not just a 'run your family forever' Sim copy. I was put off buying Sim family type games because there didn't seem any real purpose to all that care taking!

I dreamed last night it had already bought it and the middle of summer time and I was playing the game already and I was trying to get to one of my house members, but did not know how to get to them. It was so strange my dream.

Absolutely brilliant idea! LOL. I love the simulation type games such as Virtual Villagers and The Sims, so Virtual Families should be like a bit of both put together. I like (as always) how LDW usually has the same style people in different games. Also, the people in our families would remind us of the villagers in VV, so more civilized things could be added into the fan fiction. I am wondering how big the game files are, and I hope that LDW has made them like virtual villagers, because it looks like a fun game to mod (etc, changing colors of furniture). Overall, it looks fantastic and I wish the best to LDW for the rest of the game making, and I thank them for coming up with such a great game.

PS: Is the house customizable?

VF is due in the first quarter of 2009 (that is, by March 31). No dates have been given for VV4 yet.

Correction to my post above: I've just looked again at the "Happy Holidays" thread, and Carla's picture refers to VV4 as "coming in the first half of 2009".

I am made up that it is a simalation game on families, don't get many games like that unless I'm wrong.

VF is due in the first quarter of 2009 (by the end of March). VV4 is supposed to come out in the first half of 2009 (by the end of June). They are certainly close together for two major releases and I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were some "slippage".

Maybe while VF is in beta testing, VV4 will be started?

Keep in mind VF is brand new and VV4 is built on previous AI so in theory VV4 would take less time from start to finish since the main engine is the same. So there is still a high possibility that VV4 will get released as planned. And with VF now at 90% I’m guessing it is still somewhat on schedule, but a very tight one.

I’m sure they have been working on VV4 for a few months now. But yes I’m sure it will get more attention after VF is released to the beta testers.

If they find any bugs? When, more like! It would be a most remarkable beta test if it didn't throw up any bugs. Arthur's a brilliant programmer, but even he's not that good! No software ever written doesn't contain any bugs, and I'm sure VF will be no exception.

A Personal Note From One Gamer to the Rest of You
I am not going to wait for BFG or other gaming sites to offer it. I will get mine straight from this site. I happened to have talked with somebody once and asked what they receive monetarily when I buy a game from BFG, through the Game Club, for $6.99. They get something like $2.00 for their game. Even if you were to buy a game through BFG or some other game site at full price, that game website takes a cut of the profits too. If I remember correctly, the game developer (like LDW)receives like $12.00 for their game. I may be mistaken, but I don't think I am.

I think that the only way LDW is going to get the most of my money is if I purchase it here. I want my money to go to them for further development of new games. Personally, I do not want to share my hard earned money with another company other than LDW. I feel it is LDW who took the time to craft an awesome game for us, and they deserve all they can get, right? Besides, if you buy it from here, it won't be branded with the gaming websites name or go through a game manager. There are two more reasons in my book.

These are just my thoughts on this subject. I know there are other reasons why people would want to buy through a gaming site. I do for other games. Besides, $6.99 is much easier to come up with than $19.95. There is also a monthly commitment that goes with "game club's". It's just that I really like LDW and its people and the games they produce, so I will be supporting them the best way I know.

Having bought VV1, VV2, PT and FT from other sites, I bought VV3 direct from here, and will be doing so for ALL LDWs future games!!!

when it comes to pets, i think it would be fun to breed different species! like mixing a turtle and a cat. that would be downright "Gigglible" to quote happyplayer! or a bird and a dog! lol also i think it would be cool for them to get married and only be with 1 person til they die! i think its going to be an awesome game and i cant wait to buy and play it! i get my games thru emachines games i have a monthly wildcoin plan.

I agree on the purchasing to make sure the 'donation' goes right to the organization... I wonder if they do have a donation box somewhere? That'd be a good idea... I'm sure most of us geeks with eBay and PayPal accounts can tell you it'd be as easy as a click to donate funds to LDW for future works...

They never make a specific date because the game may not get released that day. When it's released it's released. And I'm pretty positive you can't prepurchase. When VV3 was being devolped somebody else asked that question and the answer was no. I hope this helps.

How can you tell it looks cute? Are there previews yet? Also, I haven't been on since shortly after vv3 was released, so I didn't know about vf; looking forward to both though.

Also someone mentioned that they resembled the villagers. Part of the storyline could be that their ancestors were from Isola and all the tribes met and intermarried once the central part of the island was explored in vv5.
