Hi Everyone, I just want to make sure I'm on the right track. I don't want to use any spoilers like knowing what combinations give you what, beforehand. So, in order to get the magic fish without cheating, you have to just keeping trying to mate your fish to make new combinations, right? Is there any guiding principle or just keep trying them all until you find the magic ones? Thanks for reading!

That would be the logical way of thinking!
There are MANY hints and spoilers out there including actual charts with the necessary combinations.
If you are wanting to discover them on your own, I would suggest getting your tanks "ready" by buying the best environments possible and then just breed! You'll come across some magic fish by breeding, and you can actually come across some of them by buying new eggs (and getting lucky!! )

you can get the greenfin spotanus from normal eggs. I'd say that you get get other magic fishies from the rarer eggs...

Apparently you don't need to buy the rarer eggs to get the magic fish. You can crossbreed the common fish a few times to get the magic fish. I bet it's harder, though.

My strategy is to crossbreed any combination possible. I downloaded a wonderful program from this site that allows you to enter your crosses and the resulting progeny and their price.
