Yesterday I started a VV2 game on hard. I got them to the point where they were building the dam and eating coconuts, then left it running on slow for the night. Came back this morning, and ALL of my adults were practically dead! Seems that even tho I had two (adept) farmers clicked off (out of 5 adults), they weren't doing their job. The food bin was totally empty, and everyone was wandering around "worried about food". If they'd just picked the darn coconuts like I showed them, they'd've HAD food.

Sometimes I wonder about my kids.

Yes, I've found it's just too darn hard! I played it a couple of time that way, just to know I could do it, but the villagers need nursemaiding too much. I'm all for the easy life! laugh

If I leave any of my games on at night, (which I usually do) I always put them on slow. That way when I come back, they can't have gotten into TOO much trouble!! I hope, anyway!

Strangest thing just happened, tho. Got an event I'd never seen before, where a Wild Child pops up at the research table. That's a new one, and I've played VV2 for months now. Always on easy or normal, tho, not on hard.

I wonder if there are different events that happen in each difficulty level.

I also play on the harder levels...love that adrenaline rush!! But I learned not to leave my villagers alone and without guidance. They "need" me more, lol and I feel more fulfilled and satisfied when together we accomplish a healthy and thriving community.
As to the events, I'm pretty sure they are totally random but this is THE forum to receive definitive answers!

I do believe all events are random and has nothing to do with what level you are playing on. And I’m not sure how the randomizer works but it seems I get a lot of the same events over and over and then out of the blue I’ll get one I had not seen before. That’s one thing that keeps these games interesting. shocked

I been playing it on hard, however I admit I pause it over night and then go back to them, so that they will not die because they run out of food. Since on hard they have a lot less to harvest on the coconuts

I actually re-started that game, because no matter what I did, my villagers were always on the verge of starving to death. Oddly enough, when I restarted the first time, the game didn't reset my coconut levels. Instead of going back up to 1500, the levels stayed where they had been at 1180. I wound up having to delete the game entirely to start over.

Oh, well. Thru careful supervision, I have gotten everyone alive & well past the crucial point, and now I have happy villagers running around, doing all sorts of things instead of what I want them to be doing. Kind of like real life.
