Why won't it sell?

Arthurium Ball Cactus. Pruned once. Still had 3 or 4 flowers. Had received fertilizer and bio-organic plant food. Age 55 (got busy with a writing project after pollination). Nicely but not overly watered. No bugs.
Everything else sold quickly. I have all the magic plants. I dropped the price from the default $79 to $59, then $39, and finally $19 before it sold. The customers kept "bubbling" that they didn't like the plant. Why??? Was it the age or some capricious set of random customer whims?
I'm also wondering why none of the default prices changed after I grew and bred the magic plant responsible for changing them (unnamed for spoiler purposes). Any ideas?

There was probably a 'dead part' on the plant that wasn't pruned. Customers will often refuse to buy a plant with dead foliage. Once a Ball Cactus produces flowers, it's almost impossible to see anything that should be pruned.

Thank you, Lady C!
Can you tell me about my other question? It seems to me that the other times I've grown all the plants from start to finish, the default prices changed - both higher and lower for a few - after the correct magic plant was placed in the nursery. It hasn't happened this time, and the customers often complain about high prices, even though I haven't raised them. My plants now bear 7-9 flowers each, and still the customer complain! Am I missing something?

I haven't seen that happen before. Whet difficulty setting do you have in this game?

That same thing happens to me. The customers complain about the prices, but they buy stuff anyway. I usually ignore the customer bubbles, as they don't seem to really mean anything in terms of game play.

I've completed Easy and Normal once. This is my second time with the Normal setting.
I've been having trouble that I think can be attributed to my GeForce 4MX 4000 graphics card. I'm thinking if the card "burped" at the exact time the new discoveries were announced, maybe the change wasn't written to the game's profile.
Is that possible? Any other ideas what it could be? Or how to modify the profile - just this once - to make up for what didn't happen? I know that normally equates to cheating, but this is a different, justifiable circumstance, isn't it? I'll get through without the price shifts, but it's taking a lot longer to raise the necessary cash to proceed with all the mutations.
Again, thanks for your help, Lady C.

If the Magic Plant is appearing in your nursery, you don't need to worry about it. That particular Magic Plant's effects aren't crucial to what the customers perceive, and you can set the prices however you like. Borg's breeding reference tells you what those prices are, and you can usually command a higher price than that, anyway. As far as editing your savegame file, that's not something we will discuss here. Justifiable or not, people would inevitably use the information to cheat.

Unfortunately, you are correct. If edit methods were revealed, the temptation to "enhance" game results could be simply irresistable for some.
