I did a search on collectibles but didn't find what I was looking for so I thought I'd ask...

Has anyone noticed patterns to the collectibles?

For example, do your collectibles appear just after opening your game or do they appear 20 minutes later? When do you notice your uncommon collectibles appear?

I ask because...yes...I still need an uncommon shell and an uncommon tablet piece.

This tribe I'm working with now is one I started when the game was released but I wasn't going to 'rush' through...just a casual pace...but I am getting eager to finish and it seems I never see collectibles anymore. What up?

So, I thought I'd ask and see if maybe I'm just not timing it right to see the uncommon items.

Thanks! smile

It seems to me completely random, although I would say that I'll rarely open a game and immediately spot a collectible; that may be due to my not looking around for the first few minutes, though.

I think the tablets have a certain time that they appear and then no longer appear.
Click to reveal..
They begin as soon as you begin removing the rubble, and are few and far between after you finish. I recommend spacing out the removal of the rubble until you are close to, or finished with, finding all the tablet pieces.

But as for the other collectibles, it does seem to be completely random.

The tablet pieces continue to appear after the rubble is completely cleared. They always appear less frequently than the other collectibles, especially since each type of tablet piece will stop appearing once you have collected it (therefore, there are no duplicates of tablet pieces like there are with the other collectibles). The tablet pieces don't stop appearing altogether until the entire tablet is complete.

i think that the more kids you have, the less frequently collectibles appear.

That's not true, either. The spawning of collectibles has nothing to do with how many children are in the tribe.

i've noticed that when i have no children or when chief is lecturing them, a collectable allways appears and sometimes multible.

That makes sense, since the collectibles will appear regardless of the makeup of your tribe. You tend to notice them more when you have no children, since you can't pick them up. smile
