I finished the game a few days ago and am now just watching the graveyard fill up (it has room for only 48).

A post here suggested that the red phial is not always bad news so when it came up I had nowt to lose so I let the kid have it, and of course it gave of a vapour which nobbut killed off everyone in the village. No sweat, I had two pretty good doctors so they set about healing everyone.

Then I had one of my docs, a lady, heal a farmer, and cos he was old he was still weakened, so I "applied" the doc to him again, but they decided to have a bit of slap and tickle instead, right there on the beach. Indignantly I pulled them apart and trie d again, and more hanky panky ensued. This time when I pulled them apart, the lady doc produced a baby... and they hadn't even gone indoors or even got off the beach!! Whatever is the world coming to??

In the world of Village Sim, that's what they call an overeager bedside manner...

Once the "Sick" status is gone and they are left "Weakened" there is nothing more for the doctor to do. The weak status is not something healable so when you were making them interact the only thing left for them to do was a little hanky panky! I guess if you do that enough they don't even need to go inside for the breeding to work
