I've been waiting to get algae on my ocean so I can complete that puzzle, but I still don't have any. Could it be because my farmers aren't using the ocean much? I don't understand why they won't use it - it's a nonending supply! All of my villagers seem to get off track a lot :\

BTW, I've been playing for 118 hours and have level 2 farming complete, was going toward level 3. Gimme some algae! LOL

Be patient, it will come!!
While the ocean is clear, the best is to file the bin with fishes! But if you still have coconuts in the trees, your villagers will prefer to harvest them!
In this case, I usually spend my time to put my farmers in the ocean!

Well let me ask this - I'm looking at a few different guides as I go along, and one mentions getting algae pretty early on in the game, while my initial thought was that it didn't come until later. My coconuts are depleted, and instead of fishing, they'd rather water the crops LOL Is there a secret level for genetics? haha

The reason some people get it earlier is sometimes the have more than one fisher in the ocean. It also depends on your difficutly level I believe also.

You need to get the solution to the algae. If I were you, I'd just be thankful that it hasn't appeared yet, and work on getting enough points for when it does come!

I also have be waiting for algae but had got to the point I could dive for the sunken piece of the gong. I accidentally grabbed the master farmer had him eat the no breath stew and put him in the lagoon. Instead of diving for the piece he caught an algae eating fish and didn't think about it until later. Will it keep the algae from forming? Or will the disappear do to no algae? Never Mind just kept putting villagers in the water to fish and after a bit algae. One thing tha don't toell you is that it may take more than one.

You have to use more than one algae eating fish cuddle. I can't remember how many now, but it seems that it was like about 8. And yes, once you get them in the ocean the algae will not come back.
