I've been checking almost daily, religiously to see the status of village sim but it's still on 38%! ;.; Just wondering how it's coming along and if anyone has any word on what's new in it and stuff?

Hi!
Things are moving and looking very promising.

The status is still on 38% because we are writing the game for both Mac and PC and we had a couple of issues with the Mac part...

A couple of teasers:
We will certainly have new Island Events in the game infact we even have an Island Event Submission Thread and we will take the best (and implementable)ideas from it.

Also, you will be able to name your own villagers if you want!

For now that's all I can say!

I can't wait for the Windows version! I've been playing the Palm version for ages. I don't know why but I just don't get tired of the game!
I can't wait to see everything the Windows version will add. Can you give us any more teasers?

Thanks!
Peter

Aw I sorta wish you didn't do both just so PC would come out faster but it wouldn't be nice for MAC ppl. Is everything okay now? How long do you think til it's ready to play??

Being a Mac person, I appreciate the dual system writing I have a Windows desktop and Mac laptop and would LOVE to have VS on the laptop for playing while I'm waiting for classes and such so I'm excited Of course I'm the worst of the "are we there yet" offenders too lol

Me, I can't wait until it goes on the Windows Mobil platform. I've sacked my Palm and moved to an iPaq, and I did not think I would miss VS so! Dummy Me! I guess that is why I'm the Village Idiot! :c)

This is weird! I remember clearly that someone said before in 1src or elsewhere that on PPC, the population of VS goes up to more than 65. Can't remember if it's 70 or 75. So I have always thought that there is a PPC version.

At this time Village Sim is available only for Palm OS, although you can play VS on a PPC using the StyleTap Palm emulator. Maybe that's what you saw a reference to?

I remember some thing to that effect too, but I thought it was the Zodiac they were talking about. But I've slept a few times since then.

Just a quick question. Will you have to buy the windows version if you have already bought it for palm or will you be able to download it and use your registration code from your palm version?

I suspect that the Windows version of Village Sim will be like the Windows version of Fish Tycoon in that regard - the registration code structure will be completely different from the PDA versions. In that case, your Palm registration code will not work with the Windows version.

I’m sure you will have too. But it is only fair to compensate the developers for their extra time. The story will be the same, I’m sure, but it is a different plat form and new code will have to be written. So even though it is the same game, other then the story line, they will have to pretty much start from scratch. Besides if they were not able to recoup their investment, what incentive would they have to do this for us? I know, I know, they love us, and want to make us happy, but they still have to pay bills.

I assume they will incorporate more and new things in the windows version as they have done so for Fish Tycoon for Windows. I heard abt a golden seahorse in FT for Win which is absent in FT for Palm.

I sure hope they will include all those new things they have done for Windows on the next version of the Isola trilogy!

Yes, we are adding some new things, like many more island events and the naming of your villagers (and some other stuff). Also,we will have new graphics all over.

You will not be able to use the same code for Palm and Windows, but we always give a nice discount to our already registered users!
