Hi everyone i'm new to Virtual Viller and i have to admit i'm hooked now, but i have read that over fishing courses algue to appear, i have done a test game which the algue did apear and i know how to remove it etc but my question is how long does it take for the algue to appear.

1) After buying next tech level in food
2) buying a tech level in anything
3) after you have courght so many fish
4) its random

I'm now saving up all my tech points and not buying anything like i did in the test game, so i can build up the food points in the hope that i can get over 1000 points before the algue appears, at the moment i have 500 food points and i haven't tried to increase the village size since i need to have as little food eaten as possible because i'm new and want to learn rather than rush through the game.

Also would you recomend while sleeping to put the game on either pause or slowest speed?

Thanks in advance
Roy.

I think it's a set amount of time, but I haven't figured out that time yet.

Wow that was a quick response thanks, i'll continue fishing till either i can't anymore or i have enough food to last till i can clear the algue when it arrives, of course i'll have the food supply from the cocanut tree and later on the ability togrow crops but in my training game i had about 7 or 8 food points left before the first crops was grown.

I don't want to risk running so law this time because the most food points i had was around 600 which would have to last till either the cocanut tree was available again or the crops was ready and most of the time i had to wait on the crops.

This is an excellent game though, i like it a lot very addictive, my brother thinks i'm a little sad but i don't care its not him playing it lol.

Anyway, i if i find out anything i'll let you know.;)

I'm not sure if its the total amount you catch or not but i had three villagers fishing with another two working the research table and after four years the algue caming i managed to build up 1000 food points aswell.

Hope that helps in some kind of way.

It is a combination of how much you fish and the amount of time that you are fishing.

For instance, one tribe I had I found A LOT of mushrooms, so I didn't fish at all, but just researched. Finally, I wanted to increase my population. When I did, it also happened that the mushrooms started getting scarce. I HAD to start fishing.

So I think it was after collecting so many fish and how long I had been fishing, that the algae came. I hope that helps! laugh

I think it comes after you've caught a certain number of fish.

I don't think so, because I've had one tribe that caught 600 and another that caught around 1000.

Well we can rule out progressing to another tech level because i didn't spend any teck points at all, in stead i waited for the algae to arrive before buying the next level in any of the advancements.

I think the algae comes after you've been fiishing for so long, perhaps the only way to test that out will be to fish then stop till you need to fish again and keep doing that and see how many game year's go by, i managed four years with three villages constantly fishing.
