i accidentally deleted a tribe for vv3 game that i had been working for a while. it felt like a year. I got it right away after it came out. anyway, i loved it so much and i had almost completed all the awards and Happy Player mentioned something about backing up the file. Can I do that if yes, how?

Assuming that you are using Windows, and that you haven't started a new game in that slot, this answer in our Support FAQ should help you get your game back. If you're using a Mac, simply change the platform to Mac and look for the "deleted game" answer. \:\)

When you delete a game, even accidentally, it's not always possible to get it back. The most important thing when you have a situation like that is to do *nothing* in the game until you try the recovery procedure. Backups are always good protection against something like that, too.

There is no way to get a backup after you've lost data from your computer (unless you had already made backups beforehand). Making regular backups of important information on your computer is always wise, so that if your hard drive or computer crashes, you have the information stored safely elsewhere. I back up all of my important data several times a day. \:D

If you'd like to start making backups of your VV3 games, the procedure is here. \:\)

and you could try system restore to restoreing the system back.

to do this (windows only)

1. click start

2. go to all programs

3. acceroys

4. system tools

5. system restore

6. follow on screen instrouctions

that might work, but it did with me

NONE of Your new Data Will be evvected

System Restore cannot recover a game that was deleted, since it is not a substitute for a backup and recovery tool. It is intended to recover from problems caused by recent system changes, not recover lost data.

You can use a file recoverery tool.
File data are not deleted in windows, just the listing (for the best speed). When you run out of space, Windows will overwrite them.

So, if you did not do too much installing/deleting, you may be able to get your file back from file recoveryery software.
