This reptile theory is facinating (to me) and I've prepared this example thing:


The red circled part is a patch of grass from VV2 and the other part is un-edited from the preview image. I know it's not a very good match, but the edit kind of messed it up when I tried to fade the edges.

Think what you will, I'm just explaining my idea.
