When the population maxes out, players might see an event that says that some of the builders have started a boat, complete with a little "scaffold" graphic on the beach (like whenever they build something) They work and work, and when the boat is finished, five random adult villagers leave.

Not exactly an island event but how about linking up fish tycoon and village. Example for those who play fish tycoon and village sim on the same computer: if you find a magic fish, you can research points in village sim. And if you gain research level 2 and 3 in village sim, the time it takes to research environment, advertising etc. on fish tycoon speeds up.

BTW, will plant tycoon move onto PC? If so, can I request for two things:
1) The ability to click on a plant and show its parents (grandparents would be even better!)
2) More boxes to contain seeds and more flower pots ....

Regards,
SBB

How about a religion change, a freak tornado makes the villagers change their religion so that they now wont do any technical research,or fishing, maybe even breeding untill a missionary maybe washed up on the beach or maybe trained convinces them to revert to worshipping the one true stone idol God and things can get back to normal

Have the villager kids invent games that you can play within VS?

Nees to be run only after fishing is discovered;

A villager spots a large fish swimming slowly off the shore. Does he a) get out of the water or b) try to catch it?

Possible outcomes can be either-Doh! It was a shark. He's been eaten, or Yay! It was a large Tuna fish +400 food units!

I also like the idea of having certain achievement unachieved. Fixing the ruins could be undone by an earthquake, unblocking the stream could be blocked by a landslide.

Another idea which I suggested of the Palm versions but which might be workable with the upcoming Windows version, might be to have a mini plant tycoon game-within-the-game as soon as the magic field is available.

It need not be anything like as complex as plant tycoon, but your efforts to create magic plants could help towards discoveries on the research bench - in fact, maybe the top level of one of the research strands could only be opened up if you discover the magic plant.

I'd like to see a mini fish tycoon in the lake too, also helping research, but that might be a min-game too far.

Another thing that could be done is to play noughts and crosses in the sand with one of the kids in the game - this could increase their general brain power as they grow up and before they start to gain experience through doing tasks. Sorry, not events is it?

Yes, if it's Isola, why the magic plants/fish don't appear as so?

I can't remember if I have mentioned this or someone else did. I just thought of it lately. The villagers will conduct teaching sometimes. So why don't we make it like when a Master villager teachs, the recipient actually gain some extra skills. An Adept villager teaching, then sometimes s/he cannot pass her/his skills successfully. Something like that.

That's an excellent idea, because then it would give us a reason to "allow" teaching. As it is, most of us start out struggling for points or some other village benifit, so we probably end up treating teaching the same as arguing, laundry or telling a joke, etc... if it's not making points, we drag them back to the reasearch table. lol.

Thanks Brenda for supporting the idea. Yeah I get frustrated when they go about teaching and nobody actually gain from it. What a waste of time and resources! lol
