How about this:

<Insert Farmer Name> Is fishing and sees a shadow near the bottom. Should he <she>...

A: Swim away. That looks like one hungry shadow!

B: Get a closer look.

Ending 1 - The villager sinks beneath the waves and is never seen again.

Ending 2 - The villager discovers a whole bed of giant crabs! 3000 is added to the villagers' food!

...Sort of a take on the face in the bushes, eh?

I like the ghost in the graveyard idea. It could go something like:

<Villager near the graveyard> sees an strange old pile of bones near the edge of the graveyard. Should he:

A. Leave them alone. They could belong to some animal.

B. Bury them. They were obviously one of the island's former occupants, and should be treated with respect.

Ending One - The villager vanishes, and is never heard from again. But a new grave has appeared with his or her name on it.

Ending Two - (A pile of remains now becomes visible in the top left corner of the graveyard. The villager performs the act of burying the remains, just as if someone had died.) The villagers all experience a feeling of well-being as the ancient is laid to rest. Your tribe gains a level in spirituality! (as an additional or an alternate benefit, all villagers whose health isn't full could experience a boost in their health, and/or the sick could be healed. A tombstone appears with the name "Ancient" on it, with no age given.)

A good alternate spot for this event could be around the boulder!

Yeah, spirituality could give village sim more interesting gameplay and events.Villagers that have building skills (or scientists) are digging into the cave that was blocked by the boulder. There, the cave has passed over a single painted wall to a cave filled with things the ancient ones left.

How about Mysterious Fungus that can grow on your crops and either cause good things or sickness?

Just to share a thought that came to me while checking my game status. A storm swept away all the stored food. Farmers all busy gathering food and I think even before they have gathered enough to stop worrying abt food shortage, GC came and start a party.

I think they should only party when the food shortage issue is really solved, don't you think so too?

Also I dunno how random are the events but it's kind of boring to get the storm sweeping away all the stored food 2-3 rows in a go for this week!

And the villagers tend to find the red vials more than the blue or yellow ones. The yellow vials seems to be even rarer than the blue ones! This is pretty weird to me.

Maybe this has been posted above (too tired to read all of the posts), but it would be cool to get a whole new set of Island Events that only kick in a a super high mega-level of achievement (food and research points). Something for those who play the game endlessly, even after all puzzles have been solved.

Last year there was a lot of talk about what could happen after all the puzzles were solved. THREAD LINK HERE Like a couple takes off and goes to another part the island with different puzzles to solve. This game could be endless, and I’m sure peeps would not mind spending five or six bucs for a different game for VS. I don’t know if any of you play War, Inc. but it goes on for ever, and even has the ability to create new battles with an editor. Pretty cool. I would love for VS to do this, at least new adventures.

Twins! Some of the births could be twins, or triplets.

All that buried stuff that gets dug up should mean something. Perhaps what they're digging up is a lever and pully device so they have better tools.
