When I opened my game this evening I found Tonga, my chief, had died of old age at 75. I therefore went through my villagers one by one until I found the new chief, Paka. I started with the youngest and - of course - Paka was the oldest in the tribe, at 76. I also only needed one key to open the door. I got that, and it started raining just as the door was opened. I put the villager who got the key on the sun dial to move it, but there was of course no beam of sunlight to activate the final puzzle. Then the sun came out ... I looked round and there was the skeleton of Paka lying in the amphitheatre. She must have died at the same moment the Prince and Princess appeared. I feel sure it must have been shock, although the ROD said old age. She'd only been chief for about 10 minutes.

That's very funny. Sorry. Sympathies to you and Paka's family. It couldn't have been your fault -- Paka was destined to be chief. You only helped her find her destiny and she probably died happy knowing she got to be chief, no matter how briefly.
I usually start hunting for the new chief with the oldest and it turns out to be the youngest! You think the chief is always just the last one to try on the robe? Just kidding -- sometimes with a large population it's the one right in the middle.
You can't assume either that the sunbeam is always gone in a rainstorm. I've witnessed several times during heavy downpours, bright sunbeams shining on the sun dial. I originally thought it odd, but, apparently Isola has great rainbows -- probably with large pots of treasure at the end of them! Maybe it was that pot of gold that shocked Paka. What a way to go!

Poor Paka. She just became the chief and then died 10 min. later. But I really believe that she died of old age though, and I really don't think that It's your fault Arnie.

My new chief after Paka was Noko. He was also elderly, I think 66. He has just died at 76 as well. That's three chiefs in about ten Isola years. The new chief is Riki, a comparatively young 56. It looks like I won't get the Legendary Leader Award for a while ... Riki giving his first lecture to the kids.

So in playing time it was 10 minutes?, but how long in Isola time would that have been so she was the chief longer?
I do not know how to convert Isola time to earth time!

It should be one hour = one isola year on normal speed (I think ) I hope you will eventually get younger chief arnie, I can assure you that you will eventually get a chief who is under 30! (My third chief was eight!)

The game at the moment is on Fast speed, where one Isola year = one hour. That means my chief who ruled for ten minutes lasted for two Isola months.

Well, that is better than 10 actual minutes. She accomplished the last key.
I hope my 2 new tribes who I do not intend to be up to a massive population so I can keep an eye on them well, well I have yet to reach the 90 year old target. The oldest I have so far has been 78. And I have no option ticked so let them do what they want. I found if research had not been their first skill to master, they always went back to the first skill they mastered no matter what I ticked.

Another advantage I've found for having a short-term chief is that you don't have to wait the 24 hours for the chief's powers. Even if they were used just before the first chief died, the new chief has powers as soon as the robe goes on! I'm not sure if it's intentional, or just an advantageous quirk, but it can be very useful! (That's assuming the new chief is old enough to perform all his chiefly powers. And makes getting over mourning much easier.)

I don't normally play on slow speed, but I think it's half normal speed. That would mean one Isola year every four hours.

... I also have a question how long is one isola year on slow speed the one I always keep it on ?? In Slow Speed, a mother is nursing for 410 minutes = 6 hours and 50 minutes = 2 Isola's years! So 1 year in slow speed is around 3 hours and 25 minutes!
