I don't know if it is my imagination, but it seems as though now that I have several master scientists my ability to accumulate tech points thru research has slowed WAY down. My question is this-other than researching, are there other ways to accumulate tech points? Does medical research contribute to tech points or just build skill? If my master scientist's skill preference is research and I change the skill preference to farming and make them research will I accumulate tech points faster? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

What level tech are you on? If you get the next level you will soon accumulate more points \:\)

No, medical research does not count, nor will you get more points if you change their preference.

It would also be worth getting as MANY scientists as possible!

It usually slows down at that point in the game; or so it seems.

Really, the point tech points you have, the slower it takes for the number to reach the next point. Having more scientists researching may help. (:

If not, wait until you have enough tech points for level 3 of Science.

I think the problem is that at this point in the game, prices skyrocket; this is probably why production seems to slow.

It's probably just an illusion that the points are being accumulated less quickly because you want more points and because everything costs so much (at the beginning of the game you can quite easily make quite a few purchases in quick succession).

I'd say make everyone a farmer and gather a lot of food THEN make everyone a researcher and Research Like Mad. With your stored up food they won't need to do anything else for a while.

You'll soon see your points go up!

Don't forget to keep a sharp eye out for collectibles! Duplicates are worth between 100 and 1500 tech points each.

Actually, I rarely have more than a couple dedicated farmers; one is enough to feed many, many villagers, and when food gets low any skilled farmer will farm more aggressively.

This makes room for more researchers from the get go; one farmer is enough, and I usually have another cross-trained, usually as a healer, in case that farmer dies. Healers don't do much if not healing, so it's an ideal dual-function skill.
