Hoping to get some ideas. I posted the other day that my farm never grew a 2nd time. I had 16 population, 12 of which worked the farm, and it never came back after the initial crop. Folks suggested to try a new game with less population.

So I started again and kept my population at 6. When the farm ran out, I had over 1300 food. Well, I left the game on for over 24 hours, with 5 of the 6 people planting/watering crops. They never stopped watering and the food never grew back. I simply don't have enough time to get to Harvesting Level 3.

I have version 1.1 registered, which I had bought from Palm Source a week or two ago. Is the version bugged maybe. Is there a link where I can re download the software?

You can certainly try downloading the game from LDW's site and reinstalling, but I doubt that there's a problem with the one you got from Palm Source. You can download v1.1 from LDW's site by clicking here: http://www.ldw.com/zips/vs1_1.zip

Just out of curiosity, what speed were you running the game at? The farm cycle is affected by the game speed, and I wonder if there is something going wrong at certain game speeds or by changing game speed during play?

I leave the game speed on fast the whole time (when not paused). Should I try normal once the farm is dropped down?

All of my tests of the farm were done at normal speed, and I never paused the game during the tests. It sounds like something is getting set incorrectly (somehow) in your game. If that happens to you again, and you don't mind helping to figure this out, try putting your game on pause and leaving it there. Check on the game periodically while it's paused to see if the farm comes back (trust me - this makes sense). I can't say for sure how long it might take, and you wouldn't be able to play the game during this "test" (so don't spend longer on it than you're comfortable with). I will set up a game to see if I can recreate this, too. Could you give me a scenario that might produce this problem?

No problem, I'll leave the game on pause for a while and check on the farm over the next day. I'll let you know if that works.

If it doesn't, I'll start over with a normal game.

Both games were a little different, but the 2nd I tried to keep simple. I either had the game on fast or pause. I'd tend to pause about 15 hours of the day (when not at work). In 2nd game, I kept my 6 population the whole time. I learned Harvesting 1, then Science 1, and have about 30k points towards Harvesting 2 (in my first game I had complete some of the other level 2's, such as building and medicine). I didn't both clearing the beach in this game, building much. I had 3 on research and 3 on food. When my farm expired and I had 1300 food, I put 5 on planting/watering.

I left the game paused for the last day (never took it off pause) and check in a few times on the farm. No luck on seeing food.

I'll download and reinstall and try a game on fast one more time. If that doesn't work, I'll reinstall again and try on normal.

I'm doing some testing using your scenario, just to see if the difficulty is a result of the long periods of pause.

Success! I re-installed the game, played the whole thing on fast, and the crop appeared a 2nd time! Not sure what that meant the problem was, but glad it worked.
