My villagers were fine, walking around and doing tasks, and then they all died!!! I had gotten further than ever before!!! I WANT THEM BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, it's probably not possible to get your villagers back, unless you had a backup of your savegame file.

Were you monitoring their health and their food supply? Did you change the time on your computer clock? Villagers don't usually all die without a reason. If you haven't done anything with the game since it happened, you can find out why they died (and see the time stamps that would let you know the computer clock's status). This answer in our Support FAQ has information about how to access the game log for VV2.

I didn't mess with my clock and they didn't have any food, but they had JUST run out, and the food patch or whatever was one minute away from being replenished. I worked so hard!

How do I know if I had a backup of my savegame file?

I'm sorry that you weren't able to save them.

How many villagers did you have in your tribe? If it was more than about 12 villagers, it can be really difficult to get enough food for them from just the farm and coconuts. You can use what you've learned from this game and play again. Maybe you could make backups of your game periodically, in case something goes wrong again. Then you would be able to try a different strategy. You can see how to back up your game here.

I had 29 villagers.

Unfortunately, 29 villagers is far too many, even on an easy setting, to survive without unlimited fishing. When you start a new game, try to keep your population to about half that many until you solve the algae puzzle, and you'll have a much easier time keeping them alive.
