Hello, I have a tungsten E2. I have no music or sounds with village sim. I understand I should check to be sure that at least one of the music files was installed. There appeared to be 3 music files installed to my handheld and the program was installed to my expansion card. I am unsure how to check my handheld to verify that the music files really did install. I just installed the music files again just in case-but still no sound or music. Can someone advise me as to what to look for and where to verify a music file really installed? Any advise to insure it truly does install if I need to do it again?

I don't know of any reason that you shouldn't be able to hear music and sound on your E2.

The music and sound effects are controlled separately in Village Sim. The music is controlled from withing Village Sim, and the sound effects are controlled by the Palm's game sound setting. I've noticed that sometimes on my devices, the default setting for the music is too low to really hear. Here are some things to try:

Go to the Menu => Preferences screen and set Music Volume to high. Similarly, go to your E2's Prefs => Sounds & Alerts screen and set game sounds to High. That should give you some idea if they're just too soft to hear.

If your E2 has a way to view the files (or if you want to install a 3rd party file manager), you can verify whether or not the music files are installed. Just launch the file manager and look for the music files on your card.

Another thing to try, especially if you're using a 3rd party launcher, is to install the music files to internal memory. That seems to have worked for people who aren't using the standard Palm launcher.

If none of that helps, let us know and we'll see what else we can come up with!

Thank you! Silly me. I had the game sounds off from a few other games where the sound really didn't matter and I didn't want to disturb people around me. I heard sounds and music fine now.

That's good to hear! I think the game is MUCH better when you have all of the audio working!

Unless you're in your cubicle at work and your coworkers swear that you're watching porn snippets from hearing the Oh's, Ah's, and Oooh's from my villagers when you grab them.
