Hi there all: well I am new to vv3 and have two tribes. Both are doing ok - have 3 trees and working on 2nd hut had pop. of 13-14 and BOOM a barrel shows up on my beach with more kids...my trees cant keep up and I am making rain and collecting mushrooms as fast as I can! Is there any hope in maintaining enough food?

2nd tribe has just climbed to 14 and hopefully that is it until I can figure out how to feed them all.

I am no where near ready to get to the 2nd faction level... Please help with suggestions - hints - tricks of the trade!

Don't your trees reproduce if you have the level one of something?

Hint: When you see a mushroom pause the game and drag two kids on it, the unpause and you'll get twice the mushroom.

My trees seem to reproduce but I guess not quickly enough. Do you mean pause the game by going to options key?

Well welcome to the forums hope u enjoy ur stay. I can't tell u about the game as I have not played it far enough yet.

I think that you may use the chief for doing Magic Food once in each 24 hours (our hours) and pause the game in the meanwhile. Or at least, when you don't play.
Do you know that you may put 2 or 3 kids on the same mushroom?
Pause the game, drop a kid then un-pause and immediately drop the other kid!

To Pause the game, you may use the "space key"

I agree with laurence, I forgot that another way to save your tribe is to have the chief do magic food, pause 24 hours, and then unpause to let your chief do the magic food again.

I have found population control is very important in the beginning. What I have done when it got out of hand is to make it rain and collect mushrooms. I have been able to have 3 kids pick a mushroom at one time during desparate times. Also, I tend to put everybody on research to get as many tech points as possible. Again, I put multiple kids on a collectible to help add to the points. Make sure your speed is not set to fast. I've been pretty successful with these tips and haven't lost a tribe yet...though it got pretty scary a time or two.

Thanks for the warm welcome and great advice. I didn't know I could pause the game and have it still count in real hours - if you know what I mean. I will definitely try this plus tag team collectibles and shrooms. Thanks all for helping out.
