I think Seahorse is talking about something other than the "high scores" link from the LDW website.

If you check your game statistics, you get a list of how many times you fed your fish, how many you cured, trashed, sold, how many species you found, etc.

There's an option to "refresh" the internet statistics, and it looks like that shows your rankings with other players who also submitted their stats.

It's that list that will jump around goes up and won) without any real reason...

Personally, I don't look at the web "high scores" lists since those numbers are obviously suspect.

Actually, Seahorse was talking about both places - the discussion started with the erratic stats within the game, and then migrated to the High Scores on the web page.

The stats within the game are supposed to be derived from a comparison to people who are currently playing the game, but I'm not sure how that list is maintained. I don't use either of them.

Regarding the stats, Barbara is correct (as always). There are some problems on the main stats server, in particular relating the a very very early build of the game that could be exploited. Anyone with an average fish sale price of > $1000 (or so) will be deleted off the stats list. I am basically just waiting for those early builds to stop propagating on the 'net before I purge the suspect stats.

I will probably look at the stats management scripts as well, when I have time, and have them rotate old games out after maybe 60 days or so.

Is there a seperate high score list for Pocket PC and Windows??? Or are the comined into one?

The High Scores web page includes only the Windows version. The Palm and Pocket PC versions have no ability to send scores to the Internet.

I could care less what my internet stats are really...I just like seeing mine (hours, number of fish, money, ect.)
