in isola it means craaaaazy.

That's a point. What language do the Isolans speak? To judge by a lot of the names it's Hawaiian, or a similar Polynesian language such as Marquesan or Tahitian.

The names come from a range of cultures, some tribal, some not, some ancient, some not, across the globe. But they are mostly of a tribal nature.

My villagers speak a limited, but understandable, version of English for the most part. They do tend to be rather limited in their vocabulary, but certain words they no very well. There favorites seem to be:

Nope.
NO!
Uh Uh!
and last but not least:
Hunh?

Lol!! Mine indignantly squawk "Hey!" as if looking at the fishies is the most critical part of their day.

I think some of them stare at the fish like they're family -- you know those villagers - Ahi, Tuna, Unagi...

It amazes me that once a villager reaches 14 they seems to forget the words from their childhood like "Weeee", "Heh heh heh" and the planitive little "errrrm".

Ha!
What's really bad is when you start "copying" the noises back or answering the villagers. I have been known to say "don't you tell me "no", you go back and research and stop looking at the fishies!" out loud... my family thinks I am a bit "off"
