Am I the only one who feels a twinge of sadness when favorite villagers die of old age? Every time I see those skeletons at the amphitheatre I think, oh no, who did I lose now? And when I check the roster, I grieve their passing. These are virtual people... and yet I care deeply for some of them!

You'll soon learn this is a common affliction for those of us who tend to get really attached to our dear little villagers.

No quirky, your not the only one. I too feel a great sense of lost when one of my villagers die. I think we tend to mourn them like loosing someone close to us. It's not a bad thing, it shows you have feelings. Just remember them with pictures and memories.

I used to rename my villagers with my family names but had to stop because it became way to painful when they passed.

I thought I had paused my game but I had not and came back about 36 hours later to find loads of villagers including my chief had died, but no-one was more than 82.
I was in the nature faction.
And like in VV2 and the totems, it seems the graveyard can only hold 50 people. The Roster still lists them but not as an elder just their man job, and why they died.

To say the least I was devastated. GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

My child apprentice parent had grown up to be an adept parent in that time, but had no other skills, but so many of the villagers only had one skill. And those who had no inherited skills were just lying around bored.
And oh boy was it hard to make them work. They all had work as a dislike.
And the word NO became so monotonous. So I gave up.
And I restarted that game.
I had finished the main game ages ago puzzle wise but was trying to do the 90 year plus task.
And this time I will be double checking my pause game button.

My magic tribe were starting to get into their 80's as well, but now suddenly they are starting to die off earlier and earlier even though I had baby sat them, putting them in the bath, lots of food and water, and potions.
I have only 2 kids, they are 8 and then a parcel of 15 year olds.
The tribe is at maximum size, so it is horrible to have to wait for an elder you like to die so a new baby can be born.
So parenting skills in the women are low.

I always feel sad as well! On the villager's graves, I write a meaningful message. I also take screen shots of my fave villagers so they live on forever. What I also do is try and breed other villagers that look the same and name them after them.

But remember, they will always live on in your mind!

Do you mean on the Roster? Or on the stone? I had not thought of that. But the headstones stop at 50, but makes sense to wrote on the Roster.

I don't actually know how to write on the roster I meant on the graves but when my graveyard filled up I recorded messages in a word document \:\)

Sorry I misunderstood.
I am not that organised to make a word file on my villagers.

Mind you it might help me remember the ones who have died as you remember a few but not all, but if you pulled their details piccie into a word document then that would help.
Do it from whn they were little and watch them age!!

While we are talking here of 'us'....the guiding hand....mourning our villagers I must comment how touching it is to see the villagers mourning/honoring their dead. I just recently had my first event with the catastrophic illness. Chose to operate and he died. First time ever this action has happened.....every single villager collected flowers and brought them to the gravesite. Quite touching I though.
