I have achieved Level III in all 6 areas. I have 65 villagers and 45,097 food and have solved 9 puzzles. My villagers won't produce any more babies because it says there isn't enough housing. I can't figure out how to get my builders to build any more housing. I also don't have a Master Builder - only two adepts very NEARLY to the master stage - and I can't figure out how to make them do any more 'building' work to gain more experience.

65 is the population limit on most devices. If you're playing v1.0 of Village Sim, you will need to wait for at least one villager to die before the GC will be born. There have been some improvements in the v1.1 update, and the game displays a better message when you reach the population limit. The GC will also be born even if your tribe is at the limit.

There are differences in v1.0 and v1.1 in builder training, too. In v1.0, the only way to get additional construction training is to hope for an Island Event that will wash more debris onto the beach. In v1.1 your villagers can improve their construction skills at any time by fixing huts.

Thanks. My GC has been born and is now 5 years old. I guess I can't do anything with her until she's 14???? My two builders with NEARLY Master status both died, so I guess the GC will have to do the trick. Are the GCs always girls or do they vary? Mine is called "Leia". Reminds me of Star Wars! LOL.

The GC can be either gender and remains 5 years old forever. Although the GC is a master at everything, s/he can only do magic things (5-year-olds can't work). So, you'll need to have a master builder that's at least age 14 to compete Puzzle 12.

Well, my high-grade adept builders both died, and I don't have any others. I guess I have to give up on this game. I THINK I found where to dig, because the GC does her raising arms with the blue arc between them thing in a certain spot. It's a bummer to have to give up just because I don't stand a chance - even bar another wreck (I had one yesterday). BTW, do certain kids grow up to be better at certain professions? I've trained a number of doctors, and some needed a lot of prodding, but I've got one now who only had to be shown once and seems to voluntarily spend most of her time studying.
Thanks,
Karen

It's unfortunate that v1.0 created kind of a catch-22 where that last puzzle was concerned. That has been improved in the v1.1 update. If you intend to start a new game, I strongly recommend that you download and install the v1.1 update. Make sure that you are ready to start over, though, before you install v1.1, because it will delete any v1.0 savegame file that it finds. You can download the new version from here: http://www.ldw.com/zips/vs1_1.zip

Each villager has an innate predisposition to one or more professions. During testing, I frequently had villagers who could not learn farming no matter how hard I stayed on them (I called them 'farming dummies')! You will find that a villager who seems resistant to one occupation will pick up another on the first try. That's just how those little people are!

I'm having to give up on this game. I did have a wreck and made my last high-grade adept builder clean up all on his own at the ripe age of 70, but it didn't seem to increase his status at all, and now he's passed on into cyberspace. His name was Cheop - and I trained him as a builder because of the name (Pyramid of Cheops...), LOL!!!! NEXT time, I'll train someone well and try to solve #12 much earlier on. I regret having to kill off my little villagers. I find the one problem with having a large population is that one doesn't have the time to get to "know" them as well as the early settlers. Thanx for your help.

I know what it's like to get to that point in the game.... You can always use what you've learned to make your next game go much better.

Since you're going to start a new game, you really should install the new version. There are bug fixes and improvements, and you can train builders throughout the game.
