Do any of the seeds from a cross-pollinated plant produce the same species, or does each seed (from same plant) produce different variations of the species? I'm at the point where I have to toss a lot of seeds, and am afraid I've tossed too many.Aloha from Hawaii!

A Cross Polinated Seed produces a different species, rather than the ones it came from.

But do all the seeds from the cross-pollinated plant produce the same species?

Yes.
If it came from those two plants and you have more than one, then you will have the same kind of Plants from that seed.

Hmmm... maybe I'm not making myself clear. Do the cross-pollinating of the plants work like human DNA? For example, mom & dad have brown eyes, but their baby has grey eyes, because of dad's grandfather eyes were grey.

So can I get a completely different seed from a cross-pollinated plant that's been many times cross-pollinated.

Hm,mmm?

I apologize for that, and you're welcome.

Hello and welcome!
Yes, a cross-pollinited plant produces each time the same seeds! It's its own seeds.

Mendel's rules do not apply to Plant Tycoon, so all the seeds from a "cross" are the same. It's not like crossing genotypes, but more like mixing paint colors: You mix red and blue paints and get purple. Purple paint stays purple. You can't get red and blue back from mixing purple with purple.

That only works with co-dominant "red" and "blue" alleles following Mendel's rules in real world genetics. You can cross red-flowered sweet peas and blue-flowered sweet peas to get purple-flowered sweet pea plants. When you self-pollinate those, you get 25% red-flowered, 25% blue-flowered and 50% purple-flowered peas. Plant Tycoon "genetics" does not work that way though. ;\)
