When the small fruit replenishment does appear, it's usually quickly harvested by the farmers, and it's possible that you'll never see it. The same thing is true of the honey. What Lailai was alluding to is that the only way to know for sure if the fruit is replenishing is to prevent villagers from farming long enough to monitor the trees. If villagers are fishing, they will often harvest any fruit or honey that's available, as well.

Messing with the system clock can adversely affect the entire real-time engine, and game malfunctions are likely if you're not very, very careful how you go about it.
