I worked and worked my poor little villagers to become Esteemed Elders. Guess what I got for their hard work? Nothing...so disappointing. That was such an honor in VV2. Why leave the totems out of VV3?

The TOTEMS was replaced with the AWARDS system. Within the awards system there's a variety of individual AWARDS that one can achieve. Such as, Jack of all Trades (JOAT), Child Prodigy, etc. To get to the AWARDS screen; click on PUZZLES and then AWARDS.

I'm glad they left those clunky things out of VV3. They just took up space.

However, something would have been nice... you're right, it was disappointing that there's nothing at all. It would have been nice to at least have an Award for collecting 50 EE's or something.

Oh well.

I honestly ran out of room for all those totems; maybe if there was a place that they were placed automatically, like the graveyard. And Swedane, I noticed your sig. I have to say I'm surprised; not many people take an interest in the Nordic Futharks, let alone learn how to write anything in them.

EDIT: Wait . . . I had thought the Awards were a replacement for the stats? It seems to me that the only thing serving a similar function as the totems is the Roster of the Dead, which records each EE.

I would have liked a notification when awards are given. I have two that I only found out about when I looked myself. I like the little notifications.

And I miss the stats page. It would have been nice to know how many mushrooms were left before I reached 100.

VV1 had the GC. People loved him or hated him. VV2 had totems. Again, people loved or hated them. VV3 has neither ...

Aha! NOW I get why VV3 is my favorite!

Just kidding... sort of. The GC really, really stank. The totems stank too, but their intention was good, at least.

I think (judging from some of the posts, anyway) that quite a few people don't like the Tribal Chief in VV3.

I liked the totems. I put them in a special place where no one goes; the mosaic! The Tribal Chief at least does something interesting. And I thought for VV2 was the gong of wonder.......

But the chief isn't forced down our throats. After the first one, you can ignore that feature and have the kind of tribe you want. The GC is forever a pain. Plus, unlike the GC, the chief doesn't actively disrupt your tribe, so even if you do have a chief, it isn't a constant annoyance.

I guess totems could be ignored too, since you just need one, which is why they don't bother me that much.

With the GC, all you can do is hope you're astronomically lucky and he gets clobbered by an event.
