You can actually get 117 population by getting the max 115 and then when an elder dies leaving 114, mate your best male with your best female in parenting... more often than not, you'll end up with triplets giving you 117 total population. This happened by happinstance but it keeps happening. Cool!

Correct; the game doesn't alter childbirth circumstances based on population limits. That would make it hard for a large, productive tribe to achieve triplets, if that were their goal, ne?

actually you first go have two parents going and then keep having them a baby, and wait when they are on the triplet level keep on rulling 'till it ispopalation now place the grand grand grand parents who are best and then let an elder die, and matchin' them toghether to have the max popualation of 117!

first, have two parents. secondly, make a number of 4 children, as the youngest child as adopted, making 5 children, third, let another pair come and make 5 children with it, and when the children are old enough, let them marry. one pair, then have another pair make a child. then, let another pair come, and have the second child with it. when the 2 childs are old enough, let them pair. then, do the next two kids, and let them marry. now, do the same with three pairs, and another three pairs. the last pair may produce two childs, and let them marry. do it on and on. now, wait until you have a popualation of 115 and let an elder die, then make the best mom with the best dad pair and congratz! you have a pop of 117.

To make Williamani's comments more concise, in addition to the earlier factors mentioned, it helps if the two parents are both master parents. Obviously, maxxing out the medicine tech helps as well.
