There are two places that give clues about the seahorse: the description in the Supplies Shop, and a tip (the ones that you get when you click on the posters in the Fish Store) that says, "The seahorse does more than just look pretty..."

Other than that, only the developers have any idea what the seahorse does.

I had to read that twice...I thought you said, "...even the developers have no idea what the seahorse does". LOL!

Keep clicking on the poster in the store to get more info. That's the best hint place I've found in the game.

I clicked on that poster probably 50 times and never got a hint about what it does. However, I think I know and at this point I wish I didn't have it.

the sea horse does nothing to improve health or fertility etc, all it does is lengthens the life expectancy of fish by roughly 50 game yrs, may be use full to beginers but they cant afford it!

what IS the life expectancy of a fish assuming you look after it well. I remember seeing it discussed somewhere here on the forum but can't find it now.

Isola fish cannot die of old age, so assuming they do not starve, die of disease, or are too fragile for the environment, they are eternal. I have a few that are over 1500 years/days/hours/whatever old and NO seahorse in the tank.

So has anyone figured out what the seahorse actually does, (other than look pretty), cause I have clicked the posters, people, tanks, cash register, sink without a clue... good luck all

I don't know what the seahorse does, but the grandkids get a kick out of clicking on it and sending it scampering across the tank! CUTE LITTLE CRITTER!

Ok, I bought the seahorse, and thought, since it costed less than the 'Research Fish Environment', it would help keep all my rare, dying fish alive enough for me to discover the breeds. The seahorse did nothing. So, frustrated, I never got on the game again for 2 weeks, and since I didn't feed my fish, they all died! And I didn't have enough money to buy even the cheapest eggs! DON'T BUY THE SEAHORSE, PEOPLE! I had to start all over and create a new account!

I think it depends on what plants and other things you have. I had one of those long gold ones that was about 1,500 years old when I sold it. I was using that one and a black one to make the yellow expensive magic fish, but I only had one of the long shiny gold ones, so I just kept it and used it over and over.

I dont know the max years, I also think it depends on the type of fish, some seem to have more health than others when you click to see their health and if they need to eat.

I just had the weirdest thing that happened to me.. Someone bought my seahorse! I bought my seahorse from the supplies screen, and I saw him in the tank with my other fish. I went to the sell fish, and someone bought my seahorse for $0. The picture showed the seahorse pic with an orange shark superimposed in the middle.

Now I don't have any seahorse in my tank, can't buy one because it says I already have it in my inventory, and I can hold 21 fish in my sell tank. I wonder if the effect of the seahorse is still there?

Has anyone encountered this?

I've had my seahorse in my Selling Tank many times while I was selling fishies, and never had it be purchased, even when I left it there for a long, long time. It's odd that you lost yours that way.

Since I've had the seahorse I have noticed two things: first off my tanks hold more than 20 fish... they now hold 21. Second off, before I ever researched the enviroment... the hybrid fish seemed to live longer in the tank with the seahorse, than in other tanks without the seahorse.

Supposedly the fishes can live indefinitely...

I think the seahorse makes your fishes immune to overfeeding.

I bought it too, unfortunate for the amount of money it is pretty boring and useless. I also spent the 650 for that unknown checmical. It did NOTHING.? I don't think I'll be wasting my hard-earned dollars on that again?

The biggest waste of money has to be the sunken ship. $3,500 and it does absolutely NOTHING, except sit there on the bottom on ONE tank only, taking up a lot of room.

I always buy the sunken ship, since it has a huge effect on how many customers come into the store and, therefore, helps me sell my fish a lot faster!

The seahorse does good things, too, but it's a little more mysterious!

The unknown chemical is actually very useful if used correctly. There's a pretty good discussion about it here.

The ship definitely increases your amount of customers but as for the seahorse I found no effect sofar. I bought it as an emergency act since some of my more fragile hybrids were dying and I only had $1400 but they died anyway.........

I thought the fish never die unless their sickness goes untreated.

The more fragile fish needs higher environment research. You can research at the supplies store.

the seahorse will allow a total of 21 fish per tank, instead of the normal 20. I think it has other benefits, but I don't know what they might be.

the unknown chemical is for mutation if you use it right you may see new breeds of fish.

i think i read the seahorse does something for the starvation like maybe it make fish lose fed meter smaller.
