Are you supposed to sell the magic fish? That's my question in general.

I sell them all the time! Since they are very good money makers, I will usually breed a bunch of them as soon as I can in order to get enough cash to buy items for the tanks or fund research. You only need to keep them in your tank(s) if you want the specific benefits of the Magic Fish.

Thank you for the info. Whenever I've cross breeded this particular fish, the babies die. I have all common fish and this one magic fish #7. Can you breed the magic fish with common fish?

Yes, you can cross-breed any of the fish, including Magic Fish, although the babies may not live if you haven't researched the higher levels of Fish Environment. It's odd that you are having babies die, and yet you have Magic Fish #7, which requires level 3 of Fish Environment to survive. What is your current level of Fish Environment?

For some reason, I thought that once you obtain a Magic Fish, - your tank will keep its specific benefit even if you sell the last one. Puzzled.

I currently have level two. I obtained the magic fish when I purchased some rare eggs. I guess I was just lucky?

I'm positive that the benefits of the Magic Fish only apply to a tank that they're swimming in. I've tested that, and the FT instructions say, "The Magic Fish have beneficial properties that affect the other fish ....but only if they are alive and swimming in the tank." That's a good thing, actually, because you might not want some of those effects to happen all the time.

Are you sure that you have Magic Fish #7? That fish can't be obtained from eggs (although two different Magic Fish can be), and it definitely won't survive for a long time at Level 2 without pumping vitamins into the tank.

I'm positive that I have #7. I have the treo 650 version and maybe it's different than the one you have. I accidently sold my magic fish so it's kind of a mute point now. I'm focusing on raising enough money to improve my environmnent so that I can cross breed without my babies dying. Thank you for your help. BLZ

A ghost fish? Althougth it is a mere ghost it can't survive. What are your upgrades? Are you giving some vitamins? Have you breed two or more (worldwide famous and claimed) orange snooper? (Yeah, i'm a bit picky, but it is the ONLY way the canary fire-arrow can be alive)

The L3 fish can't be for long in L2 environment. One orange snooper can't do it. It need another snooper supporting it. Maybe with the greenfin spotanus.

BLZ: Silly me. I was looking at the placement on my trophy case and not the actual number. I have the second magic fish. I have upgraded my environmnent and am now able to cross breed. It took forever though!!!

Ghost Fish?? Is that what I have found? I can leave for a few minute, fish well fed, and healthy, and come back to the screen to find adult fish dead, and names I don't recognize. I did try the Unknown Chemical once. I thought maybe that was what did it.

There are many, many species of fish that will lose health and die unless you have Level 3 of Fish Environment. Using the unknown chemical could produce one of those fragile species.

There really aren't ghost fish in Fish Tycoon.

I have bred the Canary Fire Arrow and do not have the Orange Snooper. I do not know how I have obtained Magic Fishes 1,, 2, and then jumped to 7 ???

The Magic Fish can be discovered in any order. It's not unusual to get #7 before some of the others.
