I had one unlucky tribe. It was unlucky because I created it and then forgot that I created it... so... uh... oops.
You actually forgot that you created it? Wow.
Yeah, because right before closing the game I switched to an older tribe to pause them. When I came back I just started playing the older tribe and didn't go to the menu screen for several days.
