Okay,.I'm at the highest level of all the "techs" and the highest in Nature. I had the master builder build the plans on the chalk board,. take a builder to the top of the statue,.he "sees a good place to anchor the statue",..then wanders of to do something else!! I've placed several different builders there many many times and they always see a good place,...but none will start the scaffoling? What to do?

You have to put your tribe chief on it first, then put every available builder on it. With your leader there they'll start to push it. But keep an eye on them because they wander off from time to time.

Thank you Elizabeth. Is that how I start the scaffoling?? I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Is there a min population I need or a certain amount of potions,.number of children? I'm feeling a bit frustrated,..thanks so much for replying,.it's a bit of encouragement!!

No potions, no min population, no children! Just the Chief and some, at least trainee, builders.
If there is no scaffoling yet, try again until it comes. After that put the Chief on the statue until he "directs" then the builders until they "pushes the statue"!

My villagers have pushed the top of the statue to the top of the hill but they won't finish it! When I put my chief on it she just wanders off to do something else, what the heck?

Do you have version 1.00.04? If not, download it but you'll need your registration key to unlock it.

Otherwise, you can just drop the Chief on the bottom of the path to direct work. Same with the other villagers.

The statue takes an age to finish, and you have to have trained builders and certain level of leadership. But keep going because it gets done in the end!

thanks everyone!! The statue is half way up the hill now,..I only have 5 builders so it's taking forever! I need to train some of the young guys to help,.but the only thing I can find is repairing the huts,...any other way to train new builders? I think I've built all the huts I can,..will increasing my pop somehow "open up" a new hut to build? AND,.what can I do with all these tech points now,.other than buying new clothing?

my flipping chief won't direct work, the statue is at top of hill but can't get chief to do anything!!! AAAAARGH!! any help? I have only men left too so i have to hurry all they'll all die! any ideas???

All you need to do is follow the suggestions in this thread, including checking your game's version number.
