The drum in VV1. It's located near the building that becomes a school for the children. It's brown and right next to the school.

No, it doesn't. They just stand there for a while, then leave.

No, it doesn't. They just stand there for a while, then leave. YES, going to school does help them gain skills. It's like in real life, you don't learn to read by going to school ONCE. Keep sending your village kids to school and they will gain skills.

Really? My children gain skills even if I never send them to school, and when my population is small enough to track, Perhaps so, I don't remember! I never see an increase in skills after they leave school, even after several visits. I have seen it plenty of times, otherwise I'd for sure have let them educate themselves.

It arrive when the building is changed in school, not before. Lurkily is right, Swedane. When the school is created then the children will inherit their parent's skills (if they have a lot of) But they don't increase it when you call them at school. They just stay at the school door and that all

The drum is helpful if you see a mushroom and can't find a kid.

Me too! especially with the Golden Child. He starts parties when the dead are still lying around. It's so annoying. So I send him to school till they've cleared up.

Lurkily is right, Swedane. When the school is created then the children will inherit their parent's skills (if they have a lot of) But they don't increase it when you call them at school. They just stay at the school door and that all I rest my case as well a my drum finger! All that time spent beating on a drum, -for nothing.

How do you beat the drum? I realize that sounds like a stupid question, but none of my villagers even seem to see it. They look at the building (after it's been converted) and think, "this building could be converted." But when I set them down anywhere around the drum, they totally ignore it, and go back to what they were doing. Does it take a village elder, or a Master in some particular skill?

Try it out, for goodness' sakes. Clicking it calls the children to school, but I don't believe bringing them to school actually grants them any skill.

I have tried it, dozens of times! What I'm saying is, the adult villagers totally ignore it. How do I make them see it??

The misunderstanding was, I always thought an adult had to be dropped on the drum to make it work; that the adult was calling the children to school. I didn't realize it was just The Hand by Itself that made it work. Now I understand. Thanks!!

Same here. They could learn some skill. Not just stand there and learn nothing...
