I've pushed the statue to what seems to be the top of the path. When I click on it, no time comes up. When I drop the chief or master builders on it, they ignore it. Now what? It's just laying there.

Check your game's menu screen to see what version you are playing. If it's 1.00.02 or 1.00.03, please have a look at this post.

Oh! don't put them on the statue itself but on the middle of the path or at the beginning of the path!

That did it. Putting them on the statue worked in the beginning because the statue was at the bottom of the path, but as it got higher, it moved off the beginning. Thanks!!

I thought I was going CRAZY because I had the same problem with the statue. Then my fiance suggested I come here to solve the problem. He's a huge gamer and definitely knows best! I got the chief to start directing the work when I put her at the bottom of the path. A time comes up now too but I think that might be related to updating the game to version 1.00.04. If you haven't already do so because it's running MUCH smoother AND I'm getting a "Time Until Repaired" which I wasn't getting on the 1.00.03 version. It installed flawlessly too so I highly recommend updating it for anyone who's having statue issues.
