Here's my problem. I had plenty of builders, a lot of them masters, when I started moving the statue. They were all about the same age. While moving the statue a lot of them died, but I had plenty of adept builders so I wasn't too worried. After the statue was in place, my adept builders are still adept and I do not have a master to pick up the stone. I have spent hours trying to get them to work on fixing the huts to try to get one of them to master level, but it is like herding cats. They just want to wander off and play in the water, or take a bath or something else.
In VVII, adept builders would wander around, but still return to work, these guys don't seem to get it! Farmers and scientists are working, the builders don't seem to work. Any ideas?

Nope, sorry, just pick one adept builder (PICK THE ONE WITH MOST SKILL) to focus on and repeatedly put him back to fixing huts again and again until he becomes Master. You could also make the exercise potion repeatedly and get him/her to drink it and hope that s/he gains building experience each time.

Highlight below for SPOILER potion

Black orchid + tiger lily + cactus = exercise

Thanks, the potion did not add any skill, but I'll keep trying. This is a real challenge, I've been keeping them on fixing the huts for about 4 hours or so, and their skill level has not increased at all. Is the building skill the same as in VVII - they only gain skill while fixing or repairing the huts, not when examining or inspecting?

Yes, that is correct. Builders only gain skill when fixing or repairing the huts. The exercise potion only works sometimes. Same like the fixing the huts.

Will keep at it. They do like to wander off though.

Yeah!!!!! It took two and a half hours of sitting here, but I finally got two master builders at the same time!! Now I can relax and let them do their thing. I think I'll start a third tribe....
The avatar was as close as I could get to something from Florida.
