I checked on them before I went to bed. (really early this AM)
Every one was fine, plenty of food, fire, etc.
Had 14, 8 of them kids. Less than 12hrs later I have 4 left. 7 of the kids and 3 adults died. No explanation. Only event was the mother parrot. Food bin was empty but garden was full. Survivors health was low. Made a stew and brought health up. I have 1 male, 1 breed able female, I older female, 1 child.

Any ideas?

Were you running on fast? That offers a lot more time for things to go wrong. All I can think of though, assuming no event that sickened the population, is incredibly back luck.

That's pretty upsetting to come back to that kind of disaster. \:\( The most common reason for it, though, is that your farmer(s) and/or healer(s) got sick, and there was no food being gathered. It doesn't take a long time (on fast speed, as Lurkily said) for really bad things to happen.

It's probably too late now, but the game log could tell you why they died, if it hasn't been overwritten. This answer in our Support FAQ has details about using it.

I've made the mistake of leaving my game on fast while I was away. I got mad b/c I had just started this tribe recently. Two old men and no healing powers, I figured they were doomed and didn't want them to suffer. I started a new tribe and named the first two males born Poi and Aroi like the two old men.

Nope, it's on easy, normal speed. Now I'm breeding the 1 female every time I can. I need another male before the 1 I have gets too old. I'm gonna end up with all red heads.( Any body have any problems with inbreeding?)

Males don't get too old to breed; as long as you have that one woman farming for the children when he dies, and you aren't in a food crisis, you should survive; just make sure you get at least one boy- and one girl-child out of that union, and preferably more pairs.

I suggest using women as parents in slow-growth situations; they ensure childbirth will be staggered, as well as slow and even growth, even when there are lots of males around.

There is no limit of age for the male making babies. Only the females are limited at 50! \:\)
(Don't forget to select as doctors 2 villagers before leaving the game or they will not heal the sick villagers)

OMG \:8 I just got to my villagers in the nick of time, to find I had a population of 101 and the youngest female age 47 and the next youngest female age 49 and the rest were all males between 18 to 36 and all the other females were 50 and over. I soon got them on parenting and the 49 year old had twins. I hope they be girls and not more males, otherwise my villagers will all grow old and die out with no couples.

Keep in mind, events can bring more villagers to perpetuate a village, or alter ages; no viable couples NOW doesn't mean there's no hope.

If your youngest is 17, then you have plenty of time for interesting events to happen. I think it's fun to wait and see what happens. Meanwhile you could start a new tribe to keep yourself busy, and if this one dies out you'll already be on your way to having a new (and hopefully more lucky) tribe.

Why not? VV2 permits you to run two tribes together. Why end a tribe encountering difficulties, when you can just try the smoother path with another tribe while you wait for them to try and overcome it?

I think he means that there is more events that bring some males than events that brings some females. It's right than there is only one event that could bring a little girl! \:\/

I had a similiar thing happen. I suggest that you put your game on slow. I am including the outcome of my two tribes Both began in VV2. May it inspire you.

Don't give up! I had the same kind of problem.
2 males
4 females (two aged 47, 49
2 children
One woman had twins and the other had triplets. I guided them for 3 hours as I had no docs and trained one male and the children on healing. It all worked out well. Hope yours does! Don't forget, you can get events that help as well. \:\) \:\) \:\)

i have an idea the only couple you have is the young woman and the man who is older than 17 and you have 5 which is a good popualation and wait for something like the barrel o' children event and care for your fellows and soon it is 8 and you have more than when you have started! and your tribe can grow again!
