CHIEF HUNT

Alright, so I was very frustrated when I found out I had to dig in among my 90 villagers just to find "the chosen one". Every posts I've looked into had nothing but "good luck to that" answers and I'm pretty sure everyone's on the same boat (frustrated).

Anyway, just for the people who doesn't know what to do, I found out that pausing and hording everyone in the same spot will be much more helpful than going through everybody one by one through the details menu.

Here's a step-by-step guide (for people who are just plain confused as I am)

1) Hit the "space bar" key once to pause the game.
2) Gather everyone close to the amphitheater while the game's still paused (putting them inside would be better)
3) Drop them one by one to the small, dark round platform right by the robe.
4) Once you have them all dropped there (if you did it properly, the action bar must say "trying on robe" or something like that), just unpause the game and watch them

It's actually a walk in the park, but I just wanted to let confused people know that the pause button (space bar key) is VERY helpful.

COLLECTIONS EXPLOIT

Another useful purpose of the pause button is for the collections exploit. For those who doesn't know what that is, it's an exploit where you drag two villagers on a collectible, and if you do it fast enough, you'll get two of that single collectible.

The easiest way to do this in which you can get up to three or more (so far, three is the highest I've done but the amount depends on how fast you can do the exploit and the number your young ones) is to...

1) Pause the game (Space Bar Key)
2) Drop a young villager to the collectible while the game is paused (the action bar should say "collecting an item for the scientists" or something like that if you did it correctly. It doesn't matter if the collectible is new or just up for a tech point, either way, the extra collectible you're going to get will give you an additional tech point)
3) Unpause and QUICKLY pause again
4) Get another young villager and drop him to the collectible again while the game is still paused (and again, the action bar should say "collecting an item for the scientists")
5) And repeat step #3
6) Repeat #4

..And so on.
Just keep repeating step 3 and 4 "if you could". So far, I have only managed to get three collectibles

CHIEF 24 HOUR QUOTA

And here's one (something that I read from someone's post concerning the 24 hour cast limit. I've never tried before so I can't really assure you that this will work but it's worth a try) for people who are still in the early stage of the game and are stuck in keeping their villagers fed.

It's really simple, just pause the game and wait until the tomorrow. Then unpause the game after 24 hours and he'll be able to make food again, teach your little ones, and point out rare collectibles if you have it very early in the game.

Well, that's pretty much it.
It's a great game and I hope that helped a lot of you.

Thanks! These are all known ways of using (or misusing) the pause, but it's very nice to have them all compiled in one place here.

I maxed my population recently and needed to find a chief, I paused the game and sent every villager to try on the robe. I couldn't have kept track if I didn't use pause.

I usually just go through my village from youngest to oldest using the details screen.

Me too that seems to work well, I even put multiple people on the stage to try on the robe that way going through youngest to oldest. You just have to make sure that they are indeed trying on the robe and not just looking around or something

The details screen is a lot of back and forth, and takes a long time; I personally find pause much faster; I can find each person visually without having to scroll through the villagers one by one.

With a small 10-12 person tribe, the details screen is often faster, but with any more than that I find the visual route faster; it also has less hassle going back and forth between screens to recommend it.

You have compiled a very thoughtful list of how-too. Your information regarding the "COLLECTIONS EXPLOIT" is considered a game SPOILER in this forum! See: LDW Forum Rules and Posting Guidelines. It's OK to post SPOILERS as long as your post is tagged as such.
I'm sure you meant well! \:\)

Oops. I am so sorry about that. Is there any way that I could edit it?

Yes, if the edit button is still viewable to you? Click it & do your thing. If not, I'm sure someone will take care of it in the morning!
