I think I killed one of my villagers!

I assigned as many as I could to moving the statue. Some of them were a bit elderly... When I checked back later, one of the old ones was dead! I felt so bad! So I immediately pulled everyone over 60 years of age off the statue and put them to researching. After first enjoying the bath, of course. It'll take longer to move the statue now, but that's okay.

The Roster of the Dead says he died of old age, but I'll always believe it was a heart attack from the strain of pushing that statue...

No. Villagers don't have heart attacks. He either died of old age or a work accident.

Yeah. I think he died of old age. You need Level 3 Medicine to help prolong their little life expectancies and then Level 3 Nature.

Old folks die, neh? You can keep them sweating in the labor camps -- er, I mean tribes, yes, tribes -- a little longer by feeding them some restorative potions when their health gets low.

Not verified, but since the old folks always tend to be at low health, I believe it's some health-altering code, dependent on age, that eventually kills them.

The bath is a good idea but not to put them at the research. It is the hardest task for the villager's health. As I could see in the log files of VV1 & 2, they are very often hurt in researching, a little more than in building and much more than in farming. I always put my elder villager in Farming or Healing, I think it's the best for them!! ;\)

I think it is very cute to think like that ^^ It's good that there are people left who care about their villagers.
