I, personally, am trying to line up my three tribes by hair color - the black-haired Dru'gotti, the red-haired Kiegan, and the blond Leland tribe. It's just another challenge that I'm trying to accomplish.
Just beware that sometimes random hair color emerges. It is built in to the game. For example: I mated two blonde villagers and ended up with a black-haired baby.
And I missed your post, Isla. Yes, I'm doing my breeding quite scientifically, using the order listed in male_heads.png to both color the population, and to breed out the misfits. They're always my builders, or late game, farmers - hard labor for you! My management of my villagers could probably put some WWII atrocities to shame.
Glad they're just pixels.
