I bought a cleaning snail earlier today which doesn't want to move or clean - it just sits there. Is it dead, or just asleep? How can I get some work out of the lazy thing? I know snails move slowly, but this is completely motionless!

You can't actually see them move - they are very slow. They do, however, move around the tank. If you look where a snail is, and then check again after about 30 minutes has elapsed, you will see that the snail is in a different place.

Such an elusive and secretive snail...
