Well, if it helps, I used to go by Lurker, the name of a character I once played, back when I was roleplaying. Hey, it was a free-form role-playing channel, and it was my favorite character from pen-and-paper AD&D. Lurkily was an old in-joke from back then, and 'Lurker' is slang for non-participant, which I obviously do not intend to be.

Lady Ronin's the girl in this couple, (She goes by that alias wherever she goes,) and a sweet little woman she is. I got the blue, and she got the pink plushie. I'm quite proud of that sig image, (if that's the one you mean) though it's a cut-down version of a larger image; it's my own work, with source material used by permission from Lola at "Stuffies Will Kill", an online comic. Unfortunately, I can't post the link here, but it should be easy to find from a search engine.

Also, anybody wanting a link to the full-size images and animations with those characters can PM me. Yes, even knowing that my photoshop skills are only so-so, I'm quite ready to show off, I know. Blame it on the eternal war my bloated ego wages against my sense of humility.

Edit:Though not all of those images are E for everyone, I can at least post the higher-res source image for the one in my sig. I worked pretty long on trying to make blue look protective of pink. \:\)

In other words this is your gender!

More or less. Typing a lot was more socially acceptable than stabbing someone.

And... Lurkily is extremely protective...

On topic, I would kill to have those kids just pick up the collectibles and mushrooms without my assistance.. Heck, I'd give up being about to get two of the same at one time if they'd do it on their own. I just wish in one of my games I could get all the collectibles, I keep trying but I'm not even close. Cheif is virtually useless. It would have been great if he could point them out once per hour even.

Sorry, Lurkily, it was done in good humour?

That was also a joke.

By the way. I'm stealing that smiley.

the same thing is happening to me and it is driving me nuts. I can not complete the game because of waiting for the right one to fall. This is ridiculous. If the tribal chief is pointing out a rare collectable then it should be one that you do not have. The same one keeps coming up over and over. A waste of time...

Why play the game for the collectibles? Set yourself a different challenge. For instance, I'm breeding three tribes for hair color, while two of them are still struggling to stay alive. I really don't care much about having to wait on the collectibles, because I have something to do when I get there.

It's an open-ended game; the collectibles are there to enrich the late game, not to exist, all alone, as the late game. Trying to 'finish' an open-ended game just to finish it is . . . kinda silly, to me.

Neither dumb or stupid and I have lots of other things to do but wait around for the collectables. We all know it is optional but some of us like to complete things in a timely manner. Some of us even have jobs so we can't sit around all day playing games and waiting. The collectables are part of the game and the game is not over until it is all accomplished. There should be a more reasonable way to win the game that you bought!

I seriously apologize if you think I was calling you stupid. Silliness is something we all have in some aspect. I, for instance, express silliness in myriad ways that are to embarassing to actually tell anybody. (Ask Lady Ronin, my girl, she'll tell you it's true.) I absolutely did not imply anywhere in my post a lack of knowledge or intelligence.

I've played a variety of open-ended games, and all I meant is that there often is no 'finish'. The game is about the journey, not the destination. And like any journey, I might choose to skip the scenic overlooks. Sorry if I offended you.
