Um, I'm new to these forums and if I've missed something about this already, I'm ever so sorry and will welcome a point in the right direction. \:\)

I've played all three VV games and have had no problems to speak of so this is a bit, well, weird. I'm missing a villager.

I had just reached 25 villagers, three of them being infants. I'd also just completed the excavation of the cave. I'd gotten everyone back to doing other productive things, paused the game and closed it. I came back later and started playing and noticed my villager count was down to 24.

I assumed, sadly, that my oldest villager had probably died so I started checking. Hmmmmm.... no bones lying around anywhere. Hmmmm.... still only the four headstones from the previous four who had died. Double hmmmmm.... I checked my count again, even did a visual search and scrolled through all my villagers.

Mory, my first doctor and Esteemed Elder, has definitely gone missing. No ransom notes. No one even seemed to notice that he'd gone. It was almost like he'd been wiped from everyone's consciousness. I even checked in the cave just to make sure he'd not gotten stuck in there. ;\)

Mory really is gone. It's been several days now and he's still gone. Hasn't turned up in a grave, marked or otherwise. Hasn't been found mouldering in some obscure corner of the game. Life has gone on and I again have a population of 25.

So I don't know if this is a glitch or what. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks! \:\)

It is very odd that you should lose a villager while the game was paused. Just out of curiosity, what steps did you use to pause and close the game?

We have seen a few reports of dead villagers "going missing" with no grave or other record, but not while the game is paused. We are working on finding the cause of this issue, and I'll add your report to our defect tracking system.

I really don't have a good answer for you at this time.

Does he have any current children? "Father of Whoever" If he is still listed as a parent maybe there is some hope!

Well, honestly, I'm not sure if he went missing while the game was paused or shortly after I started it back up. I noticed the population number after maybe 3-4 minutes of restarting the game.

When I pause, I typically hit the space bar and usually just leave the game running but that particular time, I went ahead and exited the game.

Chances are, he'd died and got lost in the shuffle. ;\) He was about the age of the other's who'd already passed.

D'ya think maybe our missing villagers have been abducted by aliens or maybe found their way back to the other villages? Maybe they've simply reached a higher plane of existance.

Thanks for your help. \:D

I think I did check that when I first noticed he was gone but no, his progeny have long since grown and started their own families. ;\)

Thanks for the update. I think it's unlikely that he died while the game was paused, but it is possible that he died in the minutes after you started playing again. That would be consistent with the handful of other reports that we have.

That's so sad. Maybe he went back to the eastern shore of Isola or something. Or maybe the GH took him to Isola heaven!
