Hello all,
I cant seem to find any magic plants. I tried cross pollination, cross breeding, I have tried everything but cant seem to find any magic plants. How do you know you have a magic plant? What does it do or what happens when you find one?

Oh, you'll know when you find a Magic Plant. There's a noticeable sound and a popup window informing you that you've discovered one!

The message will look something like this:
______________________________________________

You have discovered the <name of Magic Plant>!

<Description of the plant's benefits>.

This effect is automatic and permanent.

The plant has been repotted in a golden pot and moved to your nursery.
______________________________________________

Once you close the window, you can go to your nursery (the selling area) and see the plant in the center where the fountain is.

The key to breeding the Magic Plants is to find a systematic way to cross-pollinate. Although you can find them "accidentally" by just breeding willy-nilly (I did that the first time, but it took 3 weeks of playing almost non-stop), you'll have more success if you approach your breeding in an orderly fashion. Many people have created spreadsheets, but you can take a simpler approach. For example, once you have upgraded your soil to support the rarest plants, try breeding one particular plant with each of the others that you've discovered. Then do the same thing with the resulting plants. Before long, you'll be seeing plants you've never seen before.

I just bought the Isola seed from the shop, and it turns out to be a magic plant.

I also have been cross pollinating and mutilating to no end. No magic plants!!! I'm out of room in my seed box and keep having to sacrifice seeds!! I'm at my wits end. I too have created spreadsheets and I consider myself a fairly intelligent person (MBA 4.0) I'm ready to call it quits. Any other suggestions?

It can be a daunting task, because there are only 4 Magic Plants and almost 600 possibilities. I managed to find all 4 Magic Plants by breeding randomly the first time I played the game, but it took me 3 weeks of intensive play.

I recommend a more methodical approach (with or without spreadsheets) that will help prevent breeding the same plants over and over again. Pick one plant and breed that with every other type of plant that you have in your inventory. Breed those offspring with the original plant, and so on. Soon you'll be discovering plants you haven't seen before. And don't keep more than 2 seeds of each offspring, or you'll totally run out of room!

If you're really desperate, there is a screen shot here with 3 of the 4 magic plants pictured. One is mostly behind the fountain, but you can get a glimpse of it and probably figure it out.

If you're really stuck, i can say that they're the rarest flowers. Three are the rarest plants, and one is Level 3.
Combine only the top-most combinations!
