I have read everything I can find (guides, tips and search) and either missed it or didn't look in the right places.

I have just upgraded Leadership to lvl 2 and can't figure out how to have the chief teach the kids?

I have dragged kids to the chief and vice versa - I have put the chief into different areas of the map - I can't figure out how to get the Teaching Ability to work?

Do I need to build another building first? Or solve a different puzzle? (I hope not as I will have "spent" my tech points needlessly lol)

Thanks for any hints you may be able to provide!

If your chief is under the age of 18, he or she cannot teach the children. You will need to wait until your chief is an adult. \:\)

Thank youy so much for the reply!

That is indeed my problem - my chief is 17 - so just a little while longer and I can try this.

Hi
Child chiefs will still collect the collectables, and also heal the sick

Your chief should be able to point out collectables just fine, just like my 7-year old chief can make food and direct work; children simply cannot teach other children, just like you can't use a 14-year old girl as a brood mare. It makes sense in real life, so this is how it's portrayed in the game.

I admit that it is a little confusing that the age requirements for these tasks are not consistent with the other tasks available to your villagers, but what are you going to do?

maybe a bit off topic sort of, but I can't find anything else to tell me. How do you get the new chief to help with collectibles? I figured out how to get him to do the other things, just not this.

Just put him at the top of the cliff, overlooking the statue. Some collectibles should pop right up.

But only if you have Level 3 Leadership. \:\)

thanks both of you :c) I guess that is one of the things like clothing huts, that isn't in a guide, and most people figure out so no one specifically ever says, just mentions.

does teaching count as "lecturing" because i just put my chief on a child (he's over 18) in hopes of teaching and it said "refusing" "some actions can only be performed once every 24 hours" and i've never taught any children, but i have lectured.

The chief only lectures. The lecturing of the kids, where they gain skill, can happen only once every 24 hours. The chief can "lecture" the whole tribe, if dropped on the podium, as many times as you like, but no skills will be gained that way.
