Is there anything that promotes events to happen? I haven't had an event for about a week. Anything I can do to promote something new to happen?

I thought they were supposed to occur at a rate of once per day (once per real day, not Isola day ). Although they don't "stack" - so if you don't open your game for a few days, you only get one event.

Have you reset your system clock recently - either deliberately (to make the game go faster) or accidentally? This can mess up the game's internal timing - I think not getting events is one of the problems that changing the system clock causes.

The events happen every 24 hours but if you have your game on pause you won't get another one until your game has been played for 24 hours island time. You can put your game on the slowest setting over night.

If you have been time traveling however you will not recieve events as squawky stated -
