I decided to start another VV game, as I lost the last one due to harddisk failure. After completion of the first village, I had it running for months, only checking in on it every few weeks.

I tried this with VV2, but the population dwindled, until everyone just died out. And VV3 seems no different, even though some kids may receive parent skills from the chief, it's not enough to make them do anything but "Unsure what to do" (even after turning 18).

Now, I've started a new VV, to see if my memory is justified, or that I might just be embellishing it.

Yesterday, I backed up my game, because food was dwindling, and there were alot of kids running around, all with a bit of scientist skill, or nothing. So I checked one of them to be a farmer (even though he had no skill). Lo and behold, he had skill this morning (the oldest were 9 when I went to bed). Now that isn't so strange. The strange thing is that every kid that had grown up in the meantime had both farming and scientist skills, and one even had healing skills to go with it.

So noone was being bored, and everyone was helping the village. I'm not sure whether VV is better at surviving breeding wise, but I will test that by leaving the village alone when the population is maxed out. I'll report back here with my findings.

The question is; what do people think of the survival skills of their villagers?
