I had 8-10 villagers yesterday morning (from elder to about 12) but when I got home from work today, I only had 1 left (she's 32). And a new child of 6. I can't figure out what happened to them. There's no gravestone or body for ANY of them. Does anyone know of an event that 'takes' all your villagers? Has this happened to anyone else?

Well one time one of my girl villagers was gone for about ten minutes I still had her profile & everything but she was nowhere on the island I got worried so I turned it off 4 a sec. turned it back on & she was playing with the other kids but I have never heard of an event that takes villagers.

Do you still have their profiles? Others have posted in other forums about "invisible children": those that still have a profile but don't show anywhere on the screen. I've never had that happen on any of the games, but these other people say not to worry. If you still have the profiles up, they should reappear, eventually.

No, their profiles are gone and villager count says '2'. I thought they had just died, but there are no tombstones for them!

The only tombstones I have are for my first 4 villagers that died of old age. I'm missing 9-10 people from my tribe - it's like they never existed! I know they did, because I track them; write down names and skills as I go.

If the villagers died and were not buried within a certain amount of time, their bodies will decompose and "disappear." The game is programmed to not let bones lie in the village too long. It's entirely possible that they died. How much food did you have, and were the villagers completely healthy when you last left them?

I had over 10000 food (about 6500 now) and most, if not all, were healthy when I left them. Five of the villagers were esteemed elders, and one of the youngest ones was an adept doctor. I thought the bones stayed until you opened/ran the game again. I've never 'lost' a villager before... I've had them die while not playing, but they're always accounted for on the tombstones.

Note: when I play, "esteemed elder" essentially means; Master Farmer, Builder and Scientist. And I had the 'unlimited' food supply.

that's wierd. when you came back, there were no bones anywhere? any maybe you just didn't find? That's just strange. I have had the bones disappear on me, if they died, before I had a place to bury them. Then it was as if they never existed. Maybe it's a _bug_ in the game? Which game/version are you referring to?

You said "yesterday morning" and then when you got back "today" after work. What speed did you leave your game running on? Maybe they died of old age?
