I had a chief, he died. I've got about 20 something odd people and none of them seem to "fit" the robe. I've tried it on kids, and adults. Whats the deal with the chief choosing? Is there some secret I'm missing?

This has been going on for days now.. I've tried with every new person.. nothing. I'm getting quite frustrated.

I just ran into the same problem - my chief died, and I have a population of 24, none of them want to be chief. I've just been trying to create more kids, hoping one of them will work.

Are you sure you've tried absolutely everyone with the robe? I find it helpful to go through the villagers one by one with the Details screen, to make sure I don't miss anyone out. Also, if there is a nursing mom in your tribe, she (or her child) might fit the robe, but neither can try it on until she's stopped nursing. Good luck!

I too, sadly have that problem. I have to keep making babies, till I can get anothe chief.

If you are sure you've gone through every villager, try closing the game, then reopening it, then try again.

There should be a chief in your existing population. The one snag is if the chief-to-be is a nursing mother, you will have to wait until she puts the child down, but otherwise, the chief should be there. Make sure you have tried every villager, oldest to youngest. You can go one-by-one thru the details screen, or you can pause the game and move all villagers over to the robe.

I had tried every villager again out of curiousity with no luck, then I shut down my game, and reopened it, tried them all again, and that was the key for me - thanks for the help!

Hmm, I'm just asking this because I'm curious, and I don't want to try that out if things don't go wrong: If there's only one left in the tribe, then the robe will aoutomatically fit to him/her, right?

Try closing out of the game and then shut down your computer. Sometimes, it just takes a reset. Then reopen the game and scroll thru the detail screen one by one to make sure that you try everyone. I would wait until I had no nursing Mothers so that everyone had a shot at the robe. You cannot complete some of the puzzles without a Chief--that would suck!!
